Increase in Masai Mara Park fees - all 2024 bookings and beyond

Dear valued client,

We would like to inform you that the Narok County Council (NCC), responsible for the stewardship and preservation of the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, has implemented adjustments to its entrance fees for the year 2024 and beyond. Kindly find the revised fee structure outlined below, categorized into two distinct travel seasons.

1st January – 30th June 2024 for international visitors
USD$ 100 per day, per adult (up from USD$ 70)

1st July – 31st December 2024 for international visitors
USD$ 200 per day, per adult (up from USD$ 70)

The updated park fees will be in effect for all individuals visiting the Masai Mara National Reserve starting from January 1, 2024. As this is a government fee increase that is beyond our control, we have had no choice but to revise the rates for all previously confirmed bookings, as well as any provisional 2024 reservations, to reflect these new adjustments.

Price increases beyond our control are explained in our BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS (Point no.5) here:
https://www.wild4photographicsafaris.com/booking-terms-and-conditions

These price adjustments are aimed at bolstering conservation initiatives, enhancing the Reserve's infrastructure, fostering support for local communities, and ultimately elevating the already extraordinary safari experience within the Masai Mara.

Furthermore, we would like to bring to your attention that the enforcement of a new 12-hour rule (from 6 am to 6 pm) has been put into effect immediately. This rule pertains to guests departing from the Masai Mara National Reserve after 11 am, and it will entail an additional full-day park fee charge. This rule does not affect those departing on the morning flight schedule.

Guests participating in any activities, including a hot air balloon safari, within the Mara Triangle or Mara Conservancy on the morning of their departure are obligated to pay the full-day park fee for that specific day.

Amboseli, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti & Ndutu - March 2016

Photo Safari to Kenya and Tanzania

Posted on 9th August, 2021

Stu Porter

This year’s Photo Safari to Amboseli in Kenya and the Serengeti, Ndutu and the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania has just ended.

Once again these locations provided us with a multitude of photo opportunities and great experiences.  The sheer number of Elephants in Amboseli this year was staggering.  We counted over 400 elephants in one scene as they marched across open land towards the Marsh for their daily feed.  One morning provided a mystical backdrop as the elephants fed in thick mist.  As the mist burned off, that amazing mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro appeared behind them.

Crossing over into Tanzania and heading to the Serengeti is always a very interesting drive and the Serengeti offered up ‘Cats in Trees’ - this time mostly lions, with one leopard also seen.  Ndutu in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area was our next stop and this is a wonderfully productive location for lions and cheetahs.  Three cheetah chases and two kills, along with a lot more lions in trees, plus a Lion Kill at the Big Marsh were just some of the highlights.  Excellent birdlife included a Verreaux's Eagle Owl, Secretary Birds, White Storks, Grey Crowned Cranes and more, were photographed.

Our final destination was the Ngorongoro Crater.  Lake Magadi was full of water and Flamingos.  We had rainbows, lions, zebras fighting and a close encounter with a Black Rhino.

A huge thanks goes out to our hard working Guides, James, Silas and Jeremia.  We really appreciate all the long hours you put in and how patient you are with us!!   Your interpretation of behaviour and your vehicle positioning skills are exceptional.

A huge thank you must also go to the hard working staff at the Camps we stayed at.

Many thanks to Alan, the two Lindas and Andy for joining us on this great photo adventure to the wonderful Amboseli and three of the most popular destinations in Tanzania.

If you are interested in joining us on the 2017 departure then please let us know as we only have 2 spaces left.

Enjoy some images from the Photo Safari.

Kind regards,

Stu.
