This 14-day safari combines the watery wilderness of Botswana’s Okavango Delta with the world-renowned predator action of MalaMala Private Game Reserve in South Africa. It is designed specifically for photographers with private vehicles, small group size, and professional photographic guidance throughout.
You will travel with Stu Porter, professional wildlife photographer and founder of Wild4 Photographic Safaris.
Every day is planned around light, behaviour, and image creation—giving you the time and space to produce a powerful, cohesive wildlife portfolio.
Only 3 photographers
Maximum space in the vehicle means freedom to move, compose, and react without compromise.
Private vehicles at BOTH locations
You are not mixed with other guests. Vehicle positioning is for photography first—clean backgrounds, inspiring angles, and the best light. Each photographer has a row of seats to themselves.
Photographer-led
Decisions are based on behaviour and creative opportunity, not simply “ticking off” sightings.
Two elite wildlife ecosystems
The Okavango Delta offers wild dogs, elephants, and dramatic floodplain scenes; MalaMala delivers some of Africa’s most reliable leopard and lion encounters.
Real field tuition
In-vehicle guidance, camera setup, autofocus techniques, creative exposure, and post-shoot image reviews.
By the end of this safari you will have:
This trip suits enthusiastic beginners through to advanced photographers using any camera brand.
We leave camp before sunrise when the Delta is cool and alive. Stu helps you prepare settings for the first light—backlit dust, low angles, creative shutter speeds. Because we have our own vehicle, we can stay with unfolding behaviour without pressure.
Midday is for rest, image discussion, and optional Lightroom guidance. Afternoons is for more photographic drama in golden light, returning after dark with new stories and stronger images.
Everything revolves around photography.
Photographers who want quality over quantity
People who value small groups and personal attention
Anyone wanting to improve wildlife technique in real conditions
Guests who prefer ethical, respectful wildlife encounters
Non-photographers may join, but the program is unapologetically built for cameras first.
Stu has guided and photographed in Southern Africa for over 20 years. His approach is practical, patient, and field-focused—helping photographers of all levels translate incredible sightings into compelling images. He understands the challenges of fast action, changing light, and unfamiliar gear, and works beside you to build real confidence.
You are not simply shown animals—you are taught how to photograph them.
This departure is strictly limited to maintain space, flexibility, and the highest photographic standard. Places are offered on a first-come basis.
Do I need to be an advanced photographer?
No. Guidance is tailored to your level, from fundamentals to advanced creative techniques.
What camera gear should I bring?
A recommended gear list is provided, but you can work with any modern DSLR or mirrorless system and lenses from 100–400mm upward.
Is this an ethical wildlife experience?
Absolutely. We follow strict reserve rules and prioritise animal welfare at all times.

Arrive at OR Tambo International Airport and transfer to your nearby airport hotel. This overnight ensures a relaxed start to the safari and allows for any international flight delays before travelling onward the following day.
Explore the heart of the Okavango Delta from a private mobile expedition camp set within the Moremi Game Reserve. With complete flexibility and no fixed lodge routines, our days are shaped around wildlife behaviour and light. Expect exceptional opportunities to photograph wild dogs, elephants in the channels, hippos, buffalo, and a rich diversity of birdlife in one of Africa’s most dynamic ecosystems.
We will spend a total of 8 nights in the Delta. This will be split between two different locations (4 nights each)
After a final morning activity in the Okavango Delta, fly by charter back to Maun and onward to Johannesburg. Overnight near the airport in preparation for the next leg of the journey.
Spend three nights at MalaMala, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife reserves and renowned for its outstanding big-cat photography. With a private photographic vehicle, time is dedicated to positioning, composition, and behaviour, offering exceptional opportunities to photograph leopards, lions, elephants, and other iconic species.
