With limited group numbers, this exclusive experience delivers both hands-on instruction and unforgettable encounters in the field.

Your journey starts in Johannesburg and takes you deep into Botswana’s Mashatu Game Reserve for eight immersive days of wildlife filming. Under the expert direction of Wim and Mags, you’ll track and film iconic species while developing practical skills in both video and audio capture.

Blending adventure with creativity, this unique safari experience empowers you to craft your own wildlife story and sharpen your filmmaking expertise.

MASHATU GAME RESERVE

Nestled within Botswana’s Northern Tuli Game Reserve, where the Shashe and Limpopo Rivers converge, lies Mashatu - a remote expanse renowned for its striking scenery and exceptional wildlife diversity. Covering more than 45,000 hectares of private land, Mashatu boasts one of Africa’s largest elephant populations and frequent encounters with predators such as leopards and lions. Its rugged sandstone formations, open plains, and dense mopane forests create a visually dynamic setting - ideal for capturing compelling footage for a wildlife short.

Thanks to minimal vehicle traffic and top-tier guiding, sightings here are personal and immersive, offering filmmakers a chance to document nature at its most raw and real.

WHAT ABOUT THE EDIT?

We’ve learned that no two people approach editing in the same way, which is why we offer a range of tailor-made video editing options designed to suit different interests, abilities, and creative goals. These flexible choices allow you to enjoy the safari purely as a filming experience - much like a photographic safari, but with film - while still having the opportunity to turn your footage into a meaningful wildlife short video.

We’ll share and discuss the most suitable editing pathways with you once you get in touch to join one of our filming safaris. Your style, your pace.
