Increase in Masai Mara Park fees - all 2024 bookings and beyond

Dear valued client,

We would like to inform you that the Narok County Council (NCC), responsible for the stewardship and preservation of the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, has implemented adjustments to its entrance fees for the year 2024 and beyond. Kindly find the revised fee structure outlined below, categorized into two distinct travel seasons.

1st January – 30th June 2024 for international visitors
USD$ 100 per day, per adult (up from USD$ 70)

1st July – 31st December 2024 for international visitors
USD$ 200 per day, per adult (up from USD$ 70)

The updated park fees will be in effect for all individuals visiting the Masai Mara National Reserve starting from January 1, 2024. As this is a government fee increase that is beyond our control, we have had no choice but to revise the rates for all previously confirmed bookings, as well as any provisional 2024 reservations, to reflect these new adjustments.

Price increases beyond our control are explained in our BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS (Point no.5) here:
https://www.wild4photographicsafaris.com/booking-terms-and-conditions

These price adjustments are aimed at bolstering conservation initiatives, enhancing the Reserve's infrastructure, fostering support for local communities, and ultimately elevating the already extraordinary safari experience within the Masai Mara.

Furthermore, we would like to bring to your attention that the enforcement of a new 12-hour rule (from 6 am to 6 pm) has been put into effect immediately. This rule pertains to guests departing from the Masai Mara National Reserve after 11 am, and it will entail an additional full-day park fee charge. This rule does not affect those departing on the morning flight schedule.

Guests participating in any activities, including a hot air balloon safari, within the Mara Triangle or Mara Conservancy on the morning of their departure are obligated to pay the full-day park fee for that specific day.

Tsavo, Amboseli & Masai Mara Photo Safari - June 2023
Kenya &
Sold Out

OVERVIEW

Enjoy visiting and photographing Kenya's wildlife in three of its most famous parks - Tsavo West, Amboseli and the Masai Mara.

Tsavo is famous for its Shetani Lava flow and Mzima Springs. Amboseli for its large Elephant herds and views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Masai Mara is known for its wildlife abundance and excellent big cat sightings.

Our meet and greet service will welcome you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. You will transfer to a Nairobi hotel for an overnight stop. The following morning you will depart on a road transfer to Tsavo West National Park, where you will spend 3 nights.

You then travel by road to Amboseli National Park where you will spend 4 nights.

You will then fly to the Masai Mara to avoid the long drive from Amboseli. You will be collected from the airstrip in the Mara and transferred to the camp, located right in the heart of the reserve. This will be your home for 5 amazing nights.

After a final morning game drive, you will fly back to Nairobi and enjoy the use of a day room at a hotel close to the airport. Later that same evening, you will take the complimentary shuttle service to catch your international flight home.

TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK

Tsavo is the largest National Park in Kenya. Opened in 1948, it is split in two by the Mombasa/Nairobi railway line and the main road.

Characterized by volcanic hills, thick vegetation and a good water supply, Tsavo West is also cooler than the dry landscape of Tsavo East.

The vastness of this wilderness landscape and the spectacular terrain, home to the Lesser Kudu and the Maasai Giraffe, is a great attraction for photographers.

Snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro is visible from the "Poachers Lookout" viewpoint and viewing of hippo at the underwater glass hide at Mzima Springs is a unique opportunity.

Tsavo is the home of maneless lions. Two of these lions attained notoriety as ‘The Man-Eaters of Tsavo’, during the construction of the railway line at Tsavo Bridge at the end of the 19th century.

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Gazetted as a national park in 1974, the core of Amboseli is 392 square kilometres (151 square miles) in size. However, it is part of a larger 8,000 square kilometre (3,100 square mile) ecosystem that spreads across the Kenya-Tanzania border.

The park protects two of five primary swamps, which are a haven for mammals and birds. It also includes a dried-up Pleistocene lake known as Lake Amboseli. It is the second most popular wildlife park in Kenya after the Masai Mara.

The park is famous for being the best place in the world to get close to wild, free-ranging elephants. It also boasts views of Africa's tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, at 5,895 m (19,341 ft). This is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular backdrops of any park in Africa.

The iconic image of a herd of Elephants with the snow-capped mountain in the background is high on our list.

MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Gentle rolling hills, savanna grassland, riverine thickets, and the famous Mara River are some of the scenery highlights you will encounter in the Masai Mara. Covering 1500 square kilometres (560 square miles), this is one of the best locations for a photographic safari, right in the heart of authentic Africa.

The Masai Mara ranks as one of the best places to photograph Africa's big cats (Lion, Leopard and Cheetah). However, these are not the only residents. The sheer number of mammals, birds, and reptiles found here is astounding.

June is a quieter time of the year for regular tourists, so you can also expect to be one of just a few vehicles at sightings. The weather is generally very good at this time of year as it falls between the short and long rainy seasons.
