Increase in Masai Mara Park fees - all 2024 bookings and beyond

Dear valued client,

We would like to inform you that the Narok County Council (NCC), responsible for the stewardship and preservation of the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, has implemented adjustments to its entrance fees for the year 2024 and beyond. Kindly find the revised fee structure outlined below, categorized into two distinct travel seasons.

1st January – 30th June 2024 for international visitors
USD$ 100 per day, per adult (up from USD$ 70)

1st July – 31st December 2024 for international visitors
USD$ 200 per day, per adult (up from USD$ 70)

The updated park fees will be in effect for all individuals visiting the Masai Mara National Reserve starting from January 1, 2024. As this is a government fee increase that is beyond our control, we have had no choice but to revise the rates for all previously confirmed bookings, as well as any provisional 2024 reservations, to reflect these new adjustments.

Price increases beyond our control are explained in our BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS (Point no.5) here:
https://www.wild4photographicsafaris.com/booking-terms-and-conditions

These price adjustments are aimed at bolstering conservation initiatives, enhancing the Reserve's infrastructure, fostering support for local communities, and ultimately elevating the already extraordinary safari experience within the Masai Mara.

Furthermore, we would like to bring to your attention that the enforcement of a new 12-hour rule (from 6 am to 6 pm) has been put into effect immediately. This rule pertains to guests departing from the Masai Mara National Reserve after 11 am, and it will entail an additional full-day park fee charge. This rule does not affect those departing on the morning flight schedule.

Guests participating in any activities, including a hot air balloon safari, within the Mara Triangle or Mara Conservancy on the morning of their departure are obligated to pay the full-day park fee for that specific day.

Kruger National Park Photo Safari - August 2023

August 02nd - 12th, 2023
Kruger National Park Photo Safari - August 2023
South Africa &
Sold Out

OVERVIEW

This 11 Day Photographic Safari is based exclusively in Africa’s oldest wilderness reserve, the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

The tour will be booked through our office and fulfilled by our partners in South Africa, Lawson’s birding, wildlife and custom safaris.

The focus of this tour will be to capture the huge diversity of species found in the Kruger with an emphasis on photographing anything that you find. You will be staying in two of Kruger's best photographic areas. The aim is not to tick species off a list, instead, your focus will be on taking the best photos you can, often stopping for the same species if you feel you can improve on existing images. By the end of this photo tour, you will have captured a wonderful variety of landscapes, birds, herbivores, carnivores and reptiles.

From Johannesburg, you will fly east towards the Kruger and land at Skukuza Airport where you will be met by your photo safari guide. You will then make your way to Central Kruger, known for its more open landscapes, dotted with Marula, Leadwood and Jackalberry trees.  For 5 full days, you will venture out in one of our special photographic vehicles. You will leave camp early to take advantage of the cool mornings when the predators are still active. A packed lunch enables you to be flexible if necessary, and stay out to photograph anything of interest. The end of each day is spent photographing a beautiful African sunset.

The second part of your photographic safari will take you to Southern Kruger, an area dominated by the open basalt plains in the east, the beautiful Sabi River in the centre and the rocky granite areas in the west. Your camp for your final 5 nights is conveniently located close to some very photo productive rivers and waterholes. Here you will photograph animals as they come to the water to drink as well as Hippos, Crocodiles and a good variety of water birds. The Sabi River, with its massive Sausage and Mahogany trees, is the perfect home of the elusive Leopard.

At the end of the photographic safari, you will fly from the Kruger (Skukuza) back to Johannesburg where the tour will end.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

This is South Africa's flagship national park and the largest in the country at over 20 000 sq kilometres (nearly 8000 sq miles). Formed in 1896, Kruger shares its eastern border with the country of Mozambique. Kruger is a wildlife photographer's heaven with a diverse collection of mammals, birds and reptiles. The terrain is mostly flat with low ranges of hills. Stunningly beautiful seasonal rivers cross the park and provide the lifeblood for its inhabitants.
