Wild4 Photographic Safaris
on a photo safari to witness some of nature's spectacles
in two of TANZANIA's premier wildlife
destinations, the NGORONGORO CRATER and the SERENGETI
NATIONAL PARK
** a four night extension to Kenya's Amboseli National Park is available before the start of the Tanzania Safari - see the BASIC ITINERARY below:
The scheduled safari will begin and end at
Kilimanjaro airport. (TANZANIA)
We drive to the famous
Serengeti National Park, arriving around midday and after checking
in through the main gate we begin exploring the central
Serengeti, photographing en-route to our Lodge in the center of the Serengeti . We spend
a total of 3 nights in the central area exploring
the varied landscapes, which include the Kopjes (granite
outcrops of rock) these offer fantastic scenic shots
and are a characteristic of the central Serengeti.
We then head south to the Ndutu area,
photographing along the way. We now enter a different
landscape, open grassland! This is where the Wildebeest
and Zebra gather in their thousands during the first months of the year, and this is the main focus of the photo safari.. The grass is sweet, it is
open and here they give birth to their young.
Of course the predators are never too far behind
and we spend the next 6 nights exploring this area
which includes Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek. Our lodge
is located near Lake Ndutu.
Our safari then heads back towards the Ngorongoro Crater and we arrive here at midday. We have a full day and a morning session of photography inside the crater and overnight for 2 nights at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge which is only 10 mins.
from the entrance to the decent road into the Crater.
This ancient collapsed volcano is truly a wonder to
see. The crater floor is heavily populated with a
variety of animals and the wall of the crater offers
a dramatic backdrop for photography.
Around mid morning on our final day we continue our road journey back to Kilimanjaro airport where we will
be able to connect with our international flights.
The tour will accommodate a maximum of 6 participants
in 3 vehicles (2 participants per vehicle). Stu Porter
will lead the tour and will alternate between the
vehicles each day to offer photo tuition and guidance.
Highlights of this safari are the unusual Ngorongoro
Crater, beautiful scenery, excellent predator action in particular Lion and Cheetah. You also have the opportunity
to witness many thousands of Wildebeest and Zebra
on the open grass plains of the Southern Serengeti / Ndutu areas
with their new borns. The chances of seeing births
are very good.. |
