Wild4 Photographic Safaris
on a photo safari to witness some of nature's spectacles
in two of TANZANIA's premier wildlife
destinations, the NGORONGORO CRATER and the SERENGETI
NATIONAL PARK This safari will begin in
Arusha where we will overnight.
We then drive on very good tarmac roads to the famous
Ngorongoro Crater, a true spectacle
not to be missed. We stay 2 nights at a prime location,
Sopa Lodge which is only 10 mins.
from the entrance to the decent road into the Crater.
This ancient collapsed volcano is truly a wonder to
see. The crater floor is heavily populated with a
variety of animals and the wall of the crater offers
a dramatic backdrop for photography. We spend the
entire day in the crater with a packed breakfast and
lunch. We return to Sopa Lodge at the end of a full
day of photography.
After a good breakfast we depart on a 3.5 hr. road
journey to the world famous Serengeti National
Park. We arrive around midday and after checking
in through the main gate we begin exploring the central
Serengeti.
At the end of another full day we arrive at our Tented
Camp. Beautifully situated en-suite tents await you,
along with a well deserved hot shower!
Dinners are enjoyed in the dining tent whilst listening
to the nocturnal sounds of the African bush. We spend
a total of 4 nights in the central Serengeti exploring
the varied landscapes, which include the Kopjes (granite
outcrops of rock) these offer fantastic scenic shots
and are a characteristic of the central Serengeti.
After 4 nights we head to the Southern Serengeti
photographing along the way. We now enter a different
landscape, open grassland! This is where the Wildebeest
and Zebra gather in their thousands during the months
of January and February. The grass is sweet, it is
open and here they give birth to their offspring.
Of course the predators are never too far behind
and we spend the next 4 nights exploring this area
which includes Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek. Our camp
is located near Lake Ndutu and overlooks the Marsh.
These are luxury tents with en-suite facilities and
a communal area for recharging batteries.
At the end of our last 4 nights we travel to the
Ndutu Airstrip (20 mins from the camp and fly back
to Kilimanjaro International Airport where we will
be able to connect with our international flights.
The tour will accommodate a maximum of 6 participants
in 3 vehicles (2 per vehicle). Stu Porter
will lead the tour and will alternate between the
vehicles each day to offer photo tuition and guidance.
Highlights of this safari are the unusual Ngorongoro
Crater, beautiful scenery, excellent predator action in particular Lion and Cheetah. You also have the opportunity
to witness many thousands of Wildebeest and Zebra
on the open grass plains of the Southern Serengeti,
with their new borns. The chances of seeing births
are very high. |
